Alternative Women's Racerback Maxi Dress

Fits great besides the length, which I will cut and hem. I am 120 lb and 5'3. I ordered the small eco navy color (a nice heather grey navy really) which fits perfectly without feeling like it's squeezing me. Yay.

I love this thing. I feel like I'm wearing a giant tshirt and some kind of slinky evening dress at the same time (but I'm prone to a vivid imagination, results may vary). I could probably sleep in it if I wanted, but so far I've layered it various ways to wear to work (good with a tailored jacket or layer a tunic over with some jewelry). I'm 5'6" and if you are any shorter you might need to hem it: I do need to gather it when I go up stairs but it's kinda fun. Super comfortable. Casual on it's own but easily dressed up. Well worth it. Loose enough to be forgiving of my little tum, but fitted enough to demonstrate I do in fact have a waist.

The UPS dropped off the package. I retrieved it off my porch, brought into my bedroom, opened it, took off the dress I was wearing and put on the black Alternative Women's Racerback Maxi Dress.I look divine in this dress. I'm wearing it now! Two days in a row. This has become my favorite dress. Why? I'm 5'9" so it makes me look long and lean. It hugs the body in all the right places. It's one of those dresses that make you look like no other.Now. I already have.... Let's see... one, two, three... 7 just like it that I bought over the years. Whenever I want to look perfect and feel comfortable and sexy carefree, I just put on one of these Maxi dresses and go! 5 stars all the way. Especially if you're tall!

Update :: 08/10/2017 :: As mentioned below, I also ordered this dress in the Eco Navy, which has now arrived. I love that it has the same great length and yes, in this color the fabric is much softer than the Eco Black (which is more of a charcoal color) so it is possible that the Eco Black may be the only color with a rougher fabric, if you are sensitive to such things, get the Eco Navy or possibly try one of the other colors. This dress has the same casual elegance, unfortunately it also seems to have the same design flaw in that the should straps have too much material, in the Eco Black the extra fabric is relatively minor, maybe an inch, in the Eco Navy likely 2-3 inches could be trimmed away. While I do have a sewing machine around here somewhere I can't say I know how to use it! I'm going to dry washing first to see if I can get it to selectively shrink at the shoulders, if that doesn't work I am get a sewing skilled friend to try to help. The straps are not falling when I wear it, they just kind of buckle mildly while sitting. It is mild and likely one of those things only I notice but again, it keeps this wonderful dress a 4 star dress when it easily could have been a 5. It makes me feel like I continually want to correct my posture, which isn't a bad thing but not what I expect in a dress. Also, the XL seems to be cut just a touch bigger in the Eco Navy. While it doesn't seem overwhelmingly big on me, I absolutely could fit a L in this color. Hopefully that just means if it does shrink I will still be very happy with the fit. Overall, I still love this dress! The length and comfortable yet elegant style, the soft fabric, the way it somehow makes me feel more slender than I am, I can see myself layering it for winter and wearing it year round. If it didn't have this odd shoulder design flaw I would definitely buy in more colors, as it is I'm not sure I would gamble on getting any more.I'm 5'10, I generally wear a 14...would dearly love to lose 30lbs...and I have a somewhat large chest, 36J. This dress in an XL is amazing for me, near perfection! I got the Eco Black which is actually a charcoal gray, not at all see thru. The length is a dream come true for me, a true maxi length, skimming the tops of my feet, perfect in sandals, heels or barefoot. The fit is nearly perfect, loose where it's supposed to be, supportive in the chest, I can wear without a bra and there's no obvious droop or sag but this dress is a touch low cut. If it were inappropriate one or all of my 4 sons would have said something and no one did. I simply notice the neckline shows a little more cleavage than my standard tank tops. For the fit to be completely perfect the shoulders would need to be taken in about an inch but when wearing it I don't really notice this, the straps aren't falling, the girls aren't at risk of being exposed. It's a bit elegant for just wearing around the house but that's what I've done so far. I will wear it out even though it's best without a bra, I don't feel I would be overexposed. I love the length. I have not yet washed it, I hope it doesn't shrink. The fabric has a bit of a rough texture to it, if it were softer I would have given 5 stars. Other reviewers have said it was soft, maybe the Eco Black is rough? I'm so happy with it I've just ordered another in the Eco Navy, I'll update if the fabric is softer in that color.So, awesome length for the tall ladies, can easily be hemmed. Elegant style in a casual fabric that isn't see thru (at least in the darker color range) accommodates a large chest, definitely a touch sexy but not inappropriate and I don't feel hugely fat when wearing it and let's face it, no one can accuse me of being skinny!

I love the material, it is soft and light on the skin. The length was ideal for my height (I am 5'6") and even after wearing this all day it retains its shape. I purchased the XS and it fit as expected. I wish it had been a touch smaller, but it does not stop me from loving the dress. I did wear it once without an undergarment, but decided it was a bit too revealing for my tastes, so I would recommend planning on needing a bra with an appropriate back.Edited to add :I bought the blue color and was incredibly disappointed that it was FAR thinner and a LOT more see through than the purple. Be warned, there is a quality control issue. I'm knocking off a star for that and sending the blue one back.

Absolutely perfect dress, I have nothing bad to say about it! Length is perfect (I'm 5'8" and 130 lbs). I got a medium and it's not too tight around the waist or too loose on the armpits...PERFECT dress.

Nice light weight summer dress. I have ordered it in a few other colors and find I had to take up the shoulder straps 2" on all of them. I got a Medium, (I'm size 10-12) each dress fit a little bit differently, but I like all the colors and am keeping them all. The plum one was more snug than the others but still fits nicely. The hem is raw and unfinished so you can cut it any length you wish. This is a perfect travel dress, beach dress, wear it out, dress it up, wear it to bed, I love it!

I ordered the grey one, like the model is wearing and it is very long on me! I'm 5'6 and 125 lbs and the neck comes all the way down PAST my cleavage. The side openings come down past my bra and the hem drags at least an inch on the floor. I think the body of the dress fits me well so if I order a smaller size it'd be too tight. Since I wear a headscarf the issues of an extremely low neckline aren't too much a problem. I also bring up the neckline a bit with a safety pin so it isn't hanging off my chest. That is the only way it can look the way it's pictured. Some things I do like about this dress are that it's a soft fabric and it doesn't wrinkle. Since the fabric is light, it does not hide much of what's underneath. Keep this in mind if you are self-conscious about your body or do not want to be worried about imperfections while wearing it. Despite all this, I do like actually like this dress and wear it often.

The dress is super comfortable and I love the fit . The fabric is thin as expected but I just wear a long shall if going out or just as is around the house . I like the thin material as it’s great for hot weather. Would love another in a different colour.

Fabric is so thin that it's see through!Thankfully Amazon prime allows for free returns, because I truly feel cheated out of my money on this product.

Ordered a gray one loved it ordered a blue one same size, shoulder and arm holes are way too big??
