I'd never heard of these Cult-classic, original Gingher Stork "embroidery" scissors, until I became a new Mom, & rc'd as a gift from my very kind and wealthy Aunt. *Sidebar- My childhood memories are that my Aunt always had the finest of everything I'd never heard of: Thick, soft, luxurious, decadent, sumptuous Egyptian cotton /European bed & bath linens, custom-made leather furniture, German Knives in Block, gorgeous artisan Stoneware tableware, commercial grade glasswear & German-made stainless steel drinking cups, + kitchen commercial grade, 2 ft- thick SOLID, butcher-block counter island (40 yrs. before it was commercially popularized), + industrial/commercial grade appliances, finest household goods (even soaps/shampoo's), European wardrobe, high-end, (never-heard-of European cosmetics, etc...) Plus, a frequent world-traveler w/ a maid/nanny & always-clean house (even with 3 young children- my cousins), etc. Everything she owned was investment/lifetime- heirloom quality, German & European quality constructed. She didn't buy a lot, but instead, only bought the best.* Back to reality- We are not wealthy :) Now, 18 yrs. after my Aunt so wisely and thoughtfully gifted these Stork scissors to me upon becoming a new Mom, my "baby" is leaving for college next month. As I sort through what we already have, & what we'll need to buy for her dorm-life (& beyond), I realize how indispensable these Gingher scissors are to us! :) In retrospect, I suppose I've used them practically daily, to quickly precision snip something-or-other, for nearly 2 decades (& counting). They're still as-new: German engineered quality craftsmanship, combining Art & Function- w/ endless uses! My daughter was using them constantly too (still does!)- She'd ask permission to "borrow" them, made sure to return "Mommy's good scissors", but aometimes forgot where she so carefully "remembered" to return them <3 So, by the time she was 8 or 9 yrs. old, we agreed/ implemented the Stork scissors rule: (Safety 1st- ALWAYS!). She may use them without asking my permission 1st, & after each use, w/o being told to do so, they must be immediately returned to my top desk drawer. (Mom follows same rule, lol!) Being entrusted to use the fancy grown-up scissors without asking, was a huge source of pride for her! These little miracle scissors are one of the small comforts / conveniences of home... We'd be lost w/o them. I've now purchased my daughter her own pair, + back-ups for each of us. I'd always just assumed that these were cost-prohibitive. I tried buying an "off brand" for $6, w/o even bothering to see that these authentic Gingher's cost just $12! Best $12 I've ever invested! (They cost much more elsewhere- And I tossed the no-name brand). Oh, btw- If you are wondering about the finger-hole size- They fit my daughter's slender, delicate fingers with room to spare, and my own fatter / larger fingers just fine, too. (I've shattered my wrist & thumb, & broken all my fingers/knuckles, rollerblading & skiing- This means my fingers are no longer long, straight & slender, but rather, a bit bent, enlarged at the knuckle joints, and swollen in cold, wet weather). No matter, these Stork Scissor's still fit perfectly. If you are on the fence about whether to buy these, forget it- Buy them & stash in your office desk drawer or kitchen junk drawer nearby. These are the best! High quality, smooth cutting, perfect control, I was able to trim through quilt thickness with ease and accuracy! Loved, loved, loved these Gingher 8” Dressmaker’s fabric scissors! Worth every penny!!! Ideal size, weight & comfort!! Happy camper 😁

As always, very sharp, small and light weight. Great for making tiny clips, as needed. Gingher scissors are comfortable and easy to use. They are pricey, but they do last for a long time.

I love these fabric scissors. They are beasts, monsters, cut through thick fabric, clean cuts. It made bulk work so much easier. Worth every penny.

Incredible scissors! Spouse misplaced her original scissors that she had for 40 years and was very upset. Found these at a good price on Amazon and made her happy once again. They are slightly larger than her original scissors and are extremely sharp. Weight is noticeable but not too heavy and they are super easy to cut with and are very accurate. the finger holes are stainless, so they can be a bit slippery with very dry hands.

I have been looking at options for a good pair of multi purpose scissors for a while. I take huge issue with societies decline into disposable products. Even speciality stores have no options for things like quality scissors. Plastic unrepairable junk is marketed as “heavy duty.” I am very impressed by these scissors and I hope they’ll last many years. They feel comfortable in my hands. The design is great. The weight and size is great. I specifically wanted stainless steel, a screw (not a rivet), and for each handle to be solid metal (no welds/rivets/plastic). I bought these for everyday tasks like cutting paper, string, crafts, and especially for cutting wrapping paper cleanly. They cut very nicely with what i’ve cut so far and i have high hopes. I’ve already been spreading the word about these scissors to my friends and family. Thanks for selling a quality product. I would include pics but Amazon insists on having access to your entire photo album to do so.

These scissors my wife uses for crafting and she loves them. For the price she is really impressed with the functionality, durability, and the sharpness. She would highly recommend them to anyone.

Very nice scissors. They feel substantial with a nice weight to them in my hand. They cut very well, with nice and clean cuts. I’m impressed with these scissors, and I use them for cross stitching. Which brings me to the only draw back that I’ve found with this set. The scissor blades are thick which detracts from cutting as close to the Aida cloth as possible, leaving a tiny tail of thread. This is not a deal breaker, just an aesthetic I personally frown upon. Overall these are nice sharp scissors that cut great!

Bought these to use with my 8 colour embroidery machine. They are high quality and work great.

Compact and sharp,a little too small to hold for man size hands

I'm glad I purchased these scissors; they're incredibly sharp and work as intended. The tip of the scissors come to a very fine point, making it very useful in getting under tiny stitches to snip. They feel well-constructed and durable. I find myself constantly reaching for them in the short period of time since I've purchased them, especially for any kind of precision work. I have noticed a very faint fading of the gold plating on one side of the inner outside edge of the finger holds. However, this doesn't bother me as it's not really visible unless you're really looking and under the right light. This is with a month's worth of daily use and I am not certain if they were already like this when they arrived. The finger holds are smaller in proportion to the size of the scissors; this may potentially be an issue for very large hands. However, they have been used by every member of my household comfortably and without any issues. Lastly, the scissors also come with a little leather case to protect the blades. This pouch doesn't feel flimsy and the blades fit quite snugly. You won't be able to wedge the scissors open after and the pouch stays firmly on them until pulled off. All in all, this product would be an invaluable addition to any sewing kit--in particular if precision is required.
