AWESOME!
I baked 2 of these cakes this weekend for my husbands birthday and they were both AWESOME!I used the pound cake recipe on the box exactly as is the first time, and it baked up very nicely, but took much longer than 70 minutes! The second one I made, instead of using 6 egg whites, I used 3 eggs plus one yolk. Both came amazing! The first one I just sliced in half and filled it with my go-to peanut butter buttercream. The second one (I uploaded a photo to the gallery), I was able to slice into 3, so it looked more like a "tripple decker", which is the way my husband usually eats his PB&J's. It was perfect! The best part about it is that it comes out with a perfect "crust" appearance. Fondant would look good, but not as realistic. I look forward to trying this out to make other "sandwiches" in the future.

Big Hit!
This cake mold made with this mold was a major hit! And, it is a cinch to create a PB&J cake. I used my own recipes, but the assembly was faster than any frosted cake I've ever made. The only reason I dropped a star was because I followed the boxes baking suggestions to a tee, but the cake came out with a big whole in the center, as opposed to a dome after baking. I think putting all of the batter into one pan, as opposed to two cake rounds was the culprit! Still, once assembled no filled, no one knew! Worth it!!!

Excellent Product!
My daughter with celiac disease misses Wonder Bread so much I thought this cake mold would give her a lift. Since full-sized gluten-free cakes can be tricky to make rise well, I used a gluten-free angelfood cake recipe. Smashing success! We had to make another one the next day it was eaten so fast. Somehow peanut butter filling didn't sound yummy with anglefood cake, so I whipped cream with a small amount of sugar and beat in seedless blackberry jam to make it pink. Even the gluten eaters are asking for it. This cake mold is easy to use and makes a great impression. It's sturdy too, unlike a lot of silicone baking pans. This is a great gift for your baker friends who won't spend money on novelties.

Cake mix didn't set all the way through
Love the concept, but it didn't bake through properly. I think next time I'll make a lighter/airier cake that will rise more because this one hardly rose even after cooking longer than recommended. The top was good, but the bottom of the cake definitely never set up properly.

perfect for a teenage boy or man's birthday
Very cute cake mold. Versatile in that you can make any type of sandwich that you can imagine. I followed the recipe provided, except used ice cream fudge instead of jelly. It was delicious with the peanut butter frosting. The mold is larger than I expected and the finished cake was over 3 inches tall. Will easily serve 8 to10 (wedding size pieces or smaller). The pound cake is rich and flavorful and the peanut butter frosting recipe is delicious.Types of sandwiches:grilled cheese, brush top with brown food coloring to make it looked grilled, colored buttercream in your choice of flavors.patty melt with brownie meat patties, fondant cheese slices and yellow buttercream as mustard.the possibilities are endless.Perfect birthday cake for a teenage boy and adult men.

The Possibilities are endless.
Just received on 4/7/12, and had to make a cake RIGHT AWAY. I made a Ham and Cheese on Rye.(pictures uploaded) It looks fabulous. Everyone will be getting a cakewich on their birthday this year. Easy to remove from the pan, just sprayed with a little Pam. The center did sink a little after taking out of the oven. I think it was just five minutes underdone. But I would rather have a little sinking than a dry cake. You do have to bake the cake for over 55 minutes because of the depth. It's not a big cake by any means. So if you have a large group, or a small group of large eaters, make two. Next I will be trying angel food cake, with "sloppy jo" strawberries. Then, vanilla & chocolate "marbled rye", and so on and so on.
