It's not about the size, it's how you use it!
A must-have for people who want to learn swordplay but don't have access to a wide open space to practice. It stands at 20 inches in total with a 13 inch blade, which is extremely convenient in smaller rooms with low ceilings. Its weight is decent enough to where I can wield it with my non-dominant hand without strain, and its point of balance sits right at the bottom of the fuller (that groove in the center of the blade), allowing for excellent control. If your hands are small enough, you might even be able to two-hand it by placing your hand over the pommel, which is pretty comfortable to hold. The only praises I can't sing of this are those of its durability. Whenever I'm not fighting the air, my adversaries for the three months I've had this dagger for have been PVC pipes wrapped in foam. That, and the occasional concrete wall. And while I have escaped each of these encounters with minimal damage to my weapon, you should probably take these victories with a grain of salt. All in all, regardless of how much space you may or may not have, I highly recommend that you give this humble dagger a try.

Good quality
Very nice quality. Grandson loves it! Did not receive before Christmas. Other than that, 5 stars.

Make nice set for practice and costume without issues from observers
Have both dagger and sword. Make nice set for practice and costume without issues from observers. Have beaten it against anything I wanted to without it even showing any damage. Only thing was when left it if vehicle in Texas heat. It warped, but came back, and the rubber decayed, which I just glued the hard in place. It appears to be as tough as this old man. Would recommend it to almost anyone as the point is sharp enough to put eye out and do body damage if intended. Even works as self-defense in bind.

Nice training dagger, but not safe for preteens, and the rubber crossguard band (not really necessary) broke on all 3 of mine
Nice training dagger, good for adult or teen cosplay or training. Not safe for young kids (preteens) because the material (although not sharp) is still hard, rigid, and pointy at the end. Answering a question above: "No, it's not safe for preteens! This isn't even legal for adult SCA sparring because it's too hard and rigid. The point is also sharp, so they could poke someone's eye out! Finally, the material is so hard and rigid that if they hit each other in the head or wrist or other sensitive areas, they can hurt each other. For kids that young, please get a softer plastic sword or foam rubber or foam-covered plastic sword like they use in SCA sparring." PROBLEM: The thick, black "rubber band" that's supposed to hold the crossguard in place broke on all three of mine; however it turned out it's not really necessary (the crossguard stays on without it), so I only deducted 1 star for that. 1) The first dagger I ordered, the "rubber band" broke immediately upon assembling it, so I sent it back for a replacement. 2) My second one, the "rubber band" broke after about a week of just sitting in my office unused! I didn't bother sending this one back, because I realized that the crossguard stays in place okay without it. 3) Mythird one, the replacement for the one that had first broken, also had its rubber band fail, after a couple of months of just lying around unused, so that's three out of three!

Unique length and a good base for costume props.
I bought these not for sparring or swordplay practice, but mainly as prop weapons to use for a Ren Faire costume I was working on. I wanted a plastic base for my weapon props because almost all Ren Faires will make you peace-bond metal weapons, whereas plastic weapons are blunt and still 'okay' to leave un-zip tied at some Faires. I think I ended up getting pretty close to what I wanted, so I recommend them. They were also decently priced (about $24 each), which was cheaper than other polypropylene weapons available on Amazon. I wanted short swords for my costume and these Cold Steel 'daggers' are about as close as I could find; most other polypropylene weapons on Amazon were either way too long (30 - 40" blade length) or too short (8 - 9" blade length). These were somewhere in the middle (13" blade length). I would have liked them to be a little longer, but it'll do. After a little bit of sanding all it took was some spray paint, a leather strap for a grip, and a couple of glued on rhinestones on the pommel and I think they look pretty good. They're also light and I think feel easy to handle, but I'm no swordsman so I can't really say if they'd hold up well if you wanted to actually try to use them for sparring.

Fantastic companion to the sword!
I love cut and thrust swordplay. Having a sword in one hand and a dagger in the other is just too much fun. I bought a pair of these and a pair of the hand and a half swords to spar with and I couldn't be more pleased. The dagger is even more indestructible than the sword is. There is very little flex of any kind in the blade, so it is really more like wood than steel. A steel sword is going to flex quite a bit, so the swordplay is different when using any kind of synthetic material to practice with. That aside, this is an awesome companion to the sword and sooooo much fun to spar with!! I used to make my swords out of wooden dowels and wrap them with electric tape when they started to splinter. This is a huge step up. Considering I got the sword for about $22 and the dagger for around $14, you just can't beat that! Anytime you can get this much fun for less than $40 bucks I say you have to do it. These are going to last longer than I will and will be great fun for decades to come I am sure.

Perfect for sword and dagger training
Cold as steel, but safe as polypropylene (which can still put a hurting on someone). Canโt break this dagger. Relatively balanced and good for practice. I like balance and weight. Makes you want to thrust harder, but safety first people. Good combo for sword and dagger training at the price.

Well made. Not good for combat.
Well built but this is more of a single use item. Blocking attacks with this thing is very difficult. Its really a last resort weapon. The only use for this thing is to have it in tight spots where your opponent isn't able to really swing. that's it.
