Tanzania Travel Reference Map 1:1,300,000

Come to Tanzania!! Get lost....Well not with this map. Not only is it clear, but it also shows the major roads and even some of the dirt roads in the area. I'm a fan. We all need maps and this one really works. It is road map, so expect that is its job. I LOVE maps because when you are out of range with your cell phone (lots of the time in Tz) the map is right there in your car ready for you. And it is not expensive and it doesn't use up your data and it doesn't depend what region you are in.

Very complete and detailed book for a traveler preparing to go or one in country. Handy details on everything from medical to weather, clothing, history and national customs one might find. The travel portion is segmented into areas and very detailed with some surprisingly detailed maps of cities and good country travel maps. Accommodations are placed in five price ranges from high end to frugal. The book has a small rudimentary section on animals of Tanzania with 4 pages of color plates, but for anyone traveling on safari or interested in wildlife or birding you should get a book dedicated to the subject.

This map is beautiful, folds easily, and decently waterproof. Unfortunately, it is now quite out of date, and doesn't include several regions (and roads) which have been instated since it's printing in 2012. I'll be looking for a new version.

I've spent a lot of time in Tanzania and decided to order this map as further and, hopefully, more up to date detail. If you are going to spend any time off of the main roads, this map is essentially useless. Other than towns and villages on main roads, and some general locations for camps and lodges, this map misses the mark. As far as I can tell, a great many towns and villages of some size and importance, but slightly off the "beaten path," are completely omitted, making it just another pretty, but very general map for non-detailed reference. I have had, and seen, much better. Very disappointed.

Map has half of the country on one side, half on the other. I was hoping for all on one side to hang on our wall to study prior to our trip. Otherwise, high quality paper, good detail.

Easily folded and the lightly plasticized surface made it more sturdy to use out on a game drive and on the hood of the Landrover
