Good Story...I Liked It
I really liked this story. It's nicely written, with an engaging plot, and nicely developed characters. Skye and Trace are a good couple, and I really felt the connection between them. The two met when they were fostered in the same home, and became friends; Trace was 17, Skye 15. For the next three years, the two were inseparable; they fell in love and became lovers. That all ended when out of the blue, Trace told Skye to get "the hell out" of his life. Skye was devastated, but picked up the pieces of her shattered heart and moved to New York, where she pursued her dream of becoming a ballerina. Now ten years later, her life in shambles, Skye is back in her hometown of Chicago. She is convinced that there is someone stalking her; someone who has gained access to her apartment time and again. However, she has no solid proof, so the police can't help her. Desperately afraid, Skye reaches out to Trace; who is now a billionaire and the head of his top-notch security firm. From the very first, the sexual tension between Skye and Trace is palpable. Trace is all hardcore, protective, alpha-male, and I loved how protective he was of Skye. Skye is depicted as a small, fragile, ballerina type; this is certainly the way every man in her life sees her. However, although Skye may "appear" fragile, she has an inner core of steel. She's fearful because of her stalker and has her share of insecurity but she's determined to not let her issue bring her down. The story that unfolds moves at a nice quick, pace--it's only about 160 pages--and in thoroughly engaging. BTW, you should know that this is the first of a two book series; Trace and Skye's story continues in book two, Mine To Keep (Mine - Romantic Suspense Book 2) . HOWEVER, this book does not end in a cliffhanger. At the end of the book, all is resolved with Skye's stalker, and the couple have declared their love and are intent on pursuing a life together. This is where most romance novels end--except maybe with the addition of an epilogue depicting the couple at some future point. I was very happy with the way this book ended, and when I finished reading it last night I had no intention of reading the next book. This morning, however, I'm not quite so sure. I really liked Trace and Skye and it would be nice to read more about them. Nonetheless, with over 1000 unread books in my cloud, I really don't think I need to be shelling out $3 for yet *another* book. LOLIn any event, Trace has a secret past that is hinted at in this story. The reader is told that he was assigned to special ops in the Army and his records are sealed tight. Trace does not talk about his past, and has apparently done things that he'd rather Skye not know about. Trace's history is the focus of book two, as his past comes back to haunt Trace and puts the couple's new found happiness at risk. From the book blurb the book really does sound thrilling, and since as I love a good thriller, I may very well break down and purchase the second book...we'll see. In any event, this story was a good read for me. I liked it and would recommend it as a worthwhile read. FYI, this is not a clean romance. There are a couple of love scenes, which are graphic, although IMO, not overly so. Furthermore, there is the use of crude language throughout the story; the f bomb is used quite regularly. Happy reading!Oh, I have a recommendation for you...if you like this book, you might want to check out another, which is quite similar, Coming Home to You (The Rockport Beach Series Book 1) by Claire Raye. That story also involved a second chance at love for a couple who had been separated for ten years. The H is a Boston PD detective who returns to his hometown when he learns that his childhood sweetheart is being stalked by a psycho ex. I have to warn you though, that that book is downright nasty! The f bomb is A LOT, and there is a lot of sex--sex scenes which would make any erotic novelist proud! LOL I really liked that book, even though for me the sex was a bit much, and the f bombs a little off putting. Yet still I rated that book 4 1/2 stars. Anyhow, when I read this book it reminded me of that one, because the storylines are so similar, although each book had it's own unique flavor. Enjoy!

10 years apart until danger brings them back together
Wow, the people you get to be suspicious of their motives grows. Who can Skye trust? Once upon a time Skye trusted Trace. Is that still true?Even Trace realizes that there was just something about Skye that just draws men to her. Even when she wasn't dancing. But she had been pure magic when she danced. And dancing had been something that helped saved her from her disastrous teenage years. I liked that we got to "see" both of their points of views. And their history together even if it started out 10 years ago and then a gap to the current time. The danger to Skye just keeps escalating with almost no one believing that she has a dangerous stalker. A bit easier to understand with almost no proof of someone attacking her.I liked how the story ended with a H.E.A. for now. Their story does continue in another book, "Mine to Keep."

Good novel. It has some depth.
This is a well written and properly edited example of romantic suspense. It has a great deal more depth than the average "sweet" or "inspirational" type story, and is subsequently a far more satisfying read.Recommended.

I've been looking forward to this story and it did not disappoint
Skye and Trace knew each other since they were kids and they loved each other but Trace sent her away to live her dream as a dancer. Since then he's made a name for himself and a lot of money in the process. But Trace kept an eye on Skye as she made her dreams as a dancer come true and then later when the accident she was in killed her dreams. Trace wanted to go to her but instead he waited to see if she would ever make her way back into his life, so when she comes to his office to ask for his help with a stalker, he's thrilled and shocked.Someone has been breaking into Skye's place and messing with her belongings, just a little. Not enough to actually make the police believe that someone is stalking her. So when she goes to Trace, she's not sure what to expect or if he'll send her away again. But he believes her, sets out to change her locks, keep her safe and check out all the people in her life even if the police have no leads and aren't really sure if there really is a stalker.I had no idea who the stalker was until he was revealed because everyone Trace interviewed had a good alibi or sounded truthful. It was interesting to see who it was and why they were stalking her. I really liked how possessive Trace was of Skye and how safe she felt with him even though he'd done some not so legal things in the past. Watching them get closer and find the love they thought had been lost all these years was swoon worthy. Trace is a great guy and this was a great story.

Gripping! Romantic! Suspense!
This book was kinda unexpected and very enjoyable! When I started reading, admittedly, I had no idea what the book was even about, but I started and because it is a short-ish book, there is no messing around and you are into the story pretty rapdily.Skye is a ballet dancer, whose career is cut short by a car accident, which changes her life. Her past consisted of the gorgeous (well you just know he is!) Trace Weston, they met when they were both in foster care. Trace saved her from being attached by another boy, and takes on the mantle of being her saviour!Skye and Trace have history, inevitably. But Trace gave her up so that she could pursue her ballet career. This devastated part of Skye and though she tried to move on, she was always hooked on Trace. Unbeknown to her, he harboured the same feelings.Skye comes back into Trace's life when she discovers she has a stalker. Can Trace save her...again? Or he is in some way involved in the whole stalker episode? The storyline is good and it is a speedy read. I was actually very gripped by the book and had no idea who the perpetrator was, or whether there was one or it was just imagination?! I wish the book had been longer as you only get to skim the surface of the characters. But I liked both Skye and Trace and am rooting for them both. Will definitely download the sequel.

grabs you by the balls and doesnt let go!
This book grabs you by the balls and doesnt let you go until the very end.Mine to Take is full of suspense, intense drama, pain, love, mystery, romance this book has it all. The plot is fantastic and the characters are well rounded and have great chemistry.Trace is a true billionaire bad boy and you cannot help but to love him, the lengths he will go too, to protect the love of his life is astonishing. He is deeply dark and very intense, almost dangerous in the way he loves Skye, but it just works.Skye and Trace are truly beautiful together in a bad sort of way, they have the kind of relationship that can heal you or destroy you and the story keeps you guessing throughout. The story is a roller coaster ride that has you on the edge of you seat trying to work out who the bad guy is, we get his POV at times but it still doesnt become clear until the very end. This book packs one hell of a punch and i loved it!I am moving straight onto the next book in this series Mine to Keep.

Enjoyable suspense / romance
This is a fast moving story. Skye had a brilliant dancing career ahead of her but a car accident finished it. Skye was convinced that she was being watched but no one believed her. So she moved to Chicago but the stalker followed her. As a last resort she turns to Trace a former lover and owner of a successful security firm for help. Trace jumped at the chance to help Skye as he had never stopped loving her. So it doesn't take long to rekindle their romance. There are many twists and turns before the stalker gets his comeuppance.I felt the ending was rushed and predictable but never the less it's a good read.

Enjoyable
I liked this book. I did like Trace, even if he was really bossy. The book was well written. I did feel that a little more detail in places would have been nice. In particular, I would have liked more information about Trace, but I understand that there is a second book dealing with him. I guess we get the rest of the answers there. I think I would have preferred to just have one in-depth book dealing with both sides. Keeping so much back about Trace leaves material for another book but it keeps Trace at a distance during this book.Having said that, it was quite sweet in places and I enjoyed the story.

Brilliant
Really really loved this book. A great love story. 2 people who met in foster care, Trace was 17 years old and Skye was 15. Trace saved Skye from being raped and that is how there love story started. Now it's been 10 years ans Skye has a stalker and is in need of protection from the best security firm in town which Trace just happens to own. Have to say I didn't guess the stalker till near the end. Had me guessing. It's so well written, sometimes from Skye's pov, then Trace and the the stalker, also from the detective's pov. I really enjoyed this quick read, only a couple of hours and I can't wait to read the second one.chops to read more books from this author.
