Brought My Old Drill Back to Life
I have a great old Black and Decker drill that I've bought a few years ago and the battery slowly faded. I bought this battery and it's like new again. Cordless drills are such a rip off these days; There's a huge variety of battery voltages and options - and for that reason I've always had corded drills in my tool arsenal because they're dependable and they are not subject to technological trendiness. Quite a few manufacturers are now even selling their new cordless drills WITHOUT a battery - so you have to purchase the new drill and then buy a battery for it - which is just crazy. Sometimes though it's just SO convenient to have the cordless to do a quick job and I loved being able to give new life to my old tool, which is familiar to me and works great. This was well worth the money...

Still a solid battery to get the job done.
I was going to get rid of all my older 14.4v set of tools, but decided to buy one more battery and hold off on the major purchase of a tool set for another year or so. I don't do a ton of projects, but recently made 6 step stools out of 1x10 wood planks. I forgot how much difference it makes when you work with new batteries. This battery lasted longer than I remembered them lasting and had more power than I remembered. I'm on the 6th charge or so and it's still holding good, which it better be! I'll switch to Lithium Ion or whatever is best at the next purchase, but for now these batteries aren't bad.

Work as well as the original, priced right, and delivered to my doorstep, what more could you want?
Well, the answer to that is a Festool drill, which I got after buying these replacement batteries for my B&D drill. The previous set of batteries lasted about two years before they stopped taking a full charge rendering themselves useless. I expect that I'll get about a years use before I start noticing the same issues with nicad batteries that came with the drill. I don't use the drill everyday, and find it annoying that a week after charging the batteries - AND NOT USING THEM, they are mostly dead and need to be recharged. If you use them all the time, make sure you have more than one so you can be charging one while using the other.Even new, I never got more than a couple hours use out of these batteries. (The new Festool (lithium batteries), keeps on going and going and going.) If you're happy with your B&D drill, need to get a couple more years out of it and can't afford a new drill, this will be your best option.Bottom line, they work just as well as the ones that originally came with the B&D drill, so if that's what you need, you've come to the right place.

Quality at an affordable price
Mine arrived on time, works perfectly and charges in both B&D and DeWalt 12 V through18 V chargers. I have used this new battery to power many used B&D 14.4 V cordless tools (drill, chop saw, reciprocating saw, flashlight, hedge trimmer) I purchased cheaply off CL I will never need to upgrade to overpriced, very expensive Lithium powered tools. This battery charges in like 25 minutes in the used $18 CL DeWalt charger I also bought off CL. At $23 (when on sale) this battery is a steal. I only wish I bought two.

Doesn't Last for 300 Charges
I got my cordless drill a number of years ago (probably at least 7). It came with 2 batteries and when one ran out, I would use the full one and recharge the other so that I always had something. In the few years, my drill has had very little power, barely enough to drive in a screw, even when I used a newly charged battery. It also runs out quickly. There is no way I've charged each battery 300 times; maybe closer to 30. I guess batteries go over time.I'll probably end up buying new batteries. The hardware stores (like Ace and Home Depot) sell them. Amazon's prices are way better than any I've found on Ebay, especially with free shipping. If they are cheaper than the stores, I'll order from Amazon.

The 5 Star Black & Decker Battery
I chose this product because I have a Black & Decker wireless drill many years ago and have been extremely pleased with it because it runs on batteries and is easier to work with than a drill that has to be plugged in to a socket. That can be a problem at times! That is one of the reasons I gave it a 5 star rating. Since I bought this drill many years ago, I have not been able to find it in the local stores in my area, so I am very happy that Amazon has it available!

As Advertised
I got this for my older Black and Decker VSR drill and saw set which I have had since it came on the market.I got a replacement battery for this set 2-3 years ago as I needed the saw for a small project.I had a newer B&B VSR 14.4V and had gotten a battery for that at the same time so I had the drill and saw and figured there would now be a backup.Well imagine my surprise when the newer battery was dead dead. I had a two battery quick charger with the new set but... What good was it. I am no longer contracting so who needs that. I grabbed my older drill and that battery charged very nicely overnight so I figured I would get a spare battery. I have my old set going strong and a newer VSR in that fancy box on the shelf.Yard sale here we come

Get the Dewalt charger
Got this as a replacement battery for my B&D Firestorm tools which are still working after 10 years. I followed other reviewers' advice and got the Dewalt DW9116 charger for under $13 plus shipping, to replace my B&D chargers, both of which died. Some have been looking for instructions for the DW9116, especially about tune-up mode. When you insert the battery in the DW9116, the red light will blink, indicating the battery is charging. After an hour or so, the light will stay on, indicating the battery is charged. If you leave the battery in the charger, the charger automatically goes into tune-up mode, which can take up to 8 hours. The light will go out when tune-up mode is complete. You can remove the battery at any time during tune-up.Some DeWalt chargers may come with a tune-up button, which you of course must press to start tune-up mode.If you get long-and-short flashes, it may mean the battery is too hot or too cold to charge. Wait until the battery reaches room temperature. Two short flashes, a pause, two short flashes, a pause, etc., means there is a problem with the AC power. This may be for when the charger is powered by a portable generator, but might also occur if there's a problem with your home or job site AC power. Hope this helps.
